New Directions offers a wide array of services. These include housing services, substance abuse treatment, counseling, remedial education, job training and placement, as well as parenting and money management classes.
PATH (People Assisting the Homeless) provides homeless veterans support in order to successfully transition from living on the street to thriving in homes of their own.
VOALA programs address the myriad issues facing Veterans and their families including depression, anxiety, PTSD, TBI, substance use disorders, homelessness, unemployment, and lack of education. Their support helps Veterans overcome the barriers that stand between them and a stable, secure life. Mental health, housing, employment and case management is at the core of our Veterans programs.
CDI has a full-time presence at Patriotic Hall, and works with Salvation Army, Jewish Vocational Services, Goodwill and Volunteers of America to place veterans in careers within high growth sectors. They offer supportive services, free training for specific fields, and assistance with work expenses associated with tools, equipment, and uniforms.

Veteran Employment Program advisors offers skills assessments, one-on-one career counseling, employment preparation courses, educational and technical skills classes, and work tools as well as access to a host of other partner services including shelter and housing assistance, transportation assistance, medical and dental health services, mental health and substance abuse counseling, Veterans Benefits Assistance and more – all aimed at helping veterans secure meaningful and sustainable employment.
Hire Heroes USA partners with organizations to provide employment workshops and career training opportunities for veterans. prepare transitioning military members, veterans and military spouses for their civilian job search. These services all veterans to receive resume writing guidance, learn how to leverage their personal networks to achieve employment goals, network with hiring managers and talent acquisition professionals and practice effective and proven interview techniques.
JVS helpS all military veterans with a special focus on post-911 veterans by providing professional career coaching, assessments to identify transferable skills, training in high growth career sectors plus job search skills and job placement assistance. Participants connect with other veterans through the program’s networking groups, workshops and events. The Veterans First team also provides referrals to maximize veterans’ benefits, services and training opportunities.
CALVET HEALTHCARE SERVICES
The VA operates the nation's largest integrated healthcare system with more than 1,400 care sites including hospitals, community clinics, nursing homes, domiciliary, readjustment counseling centers, and various other facilities. There are over 100 care sites in California alone!
L.A. COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF MILITARY AND VETERANS AFFAIRS
The County's Department of Military and Veterans Affairs provides assistance to veterans interested in applying for service connected disabilities.
