Joseph’s work in South L.A. dates back to 2007, when he facilitated Safe Passage programs for 13 schools in the region. His work experience includes non-profit organizations and government agencies that serve at-risk youth, low income families and other vulnerable populations. Joseph graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from UCLA and a Masters Degree in Social Work from USC.

1) What's your favorite spot in L.A.?
Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles on Manchester and Main. I usually order wings and two delicious waffles! And if I am feeling especially hungry, I order a side of macaroni and cheese.
2) What are your top priorities for South L.A.?
I intend to genuinely listen and respond to the needs of South L.A. residents by ensuring basic city services are reaching every South L.A. neighborhood. I also hope to help strengthen the South LA economy by working with community members to implement the Mayor's jobs initiatives.
3) What is one fun fact you would like your constituents to know about you?
I love going to concerts and listening to live music. My music preferences range from R&B and jazz to electronic dance music. Occasionally, I also listen to Spanish and 80's rock.
