Ami Fields-Meyer was born and raised on the Westside of Los Angeles. Prior to joining the Mayor’s office, he served as Communications Director for Assemblymember Jesse Gabriel and completed the Coro Fellowship in Public Affairs. Ami has written about issues of public policy, religion, and civil rights for The Atlantic, Talking Points Memo, and The Forward. He co-founded the national organization TableTalk, which facilitates cross-cultural conversation and coalition-building on 50 American college campuses. Ami is a graduate of Emory University, where he earned a B.A. in History with a minor in African American Studies. He is an active member of the Los Angeles Jewish community.
